Practical Defensive EDC Pistol - $150

This is a developmental skills course focused on the practical use of the every day carry (EDC) defensive pistol.  To get the most benefit from this block of training you should use the pistol, holster, mag pouch, and concealment garment combination that you regularly use for daily carry.   It is a great course to continue your training progression and will provide an opportunity to learn new skills while improving upon your existing skill set.  The material will be presented in a crawl, walk, run manner and in an easy to understand building block approach.  

The focus of this training block will be the concealed carry, deployment and practical application of the defensive pistol.  You should use your every day carry pistol (EDC pistol), holster, and spare ammunition carrier.

PRE-REQUISITES: Successful completion of our Defensive Pistol Foundational Skills block of instruction or a waiver of this requirement after a review of your prior training and experience.

Points of Instruction (POI) Include:

• Proper firearm manipulation
• Rapid deployment from concealment
• Deployment from ready and carry positions
• Speed (Emergency) reloading of the pistol
• Marksmanship development with enhanced accuracy standards
• Critical decision making in the context of a practical firearm application
• Specific developmental focus dependant upon the student's current skill level
• Immediate and Remedial Action for malfunction clearance (time permitting)
• Movement, use of cover, and shooting while moving (timer permitting)

Equipment Required:

• Modern defensive pistol or revolver with OWB, IWB, or AIWB concealment holster required
• 3-5 magazines / 2-4 revolver speed loaders and a belt pouch to carry 2 speed reloads
• Factory produced training ammunition matching your firearm's caliber (150+ rounds)
• Hand Held Tactical Flashlight with belt pouch or pocket clip
• Cover garmet for concealed pistol practice (be prepared to shoot open, concealed, or both)
• Eye protection (safety glasses or polycarbonate lenses in perscription eyeware)
• Ear protection (electronic shooting ear muffs highly suggested)
• Knee and elbow pads recommended for positional shooting
• Seasonally appropriate clothing suitable for outdoor activities (no low scooped neck shirts or tops)
• Closed toe shoes or boots suitable for outdoor activities
• A baseball style cap or visor to help protect your face
• Water, sports drinks, & snacks to maintain yourself during moderate physical activity for the training day
