Defensive Pistol Intro & Ohio CCW Certification - $100

This 10 hour course of instruction is for the person seeking their Ohio CCW License and who wants a feature rich program focused on developing their understanding in the practical use of the defensive pistol beyond the basic "meets minimum standard" type of program.  The 4 hour classroom portion will be taught using a Zoom meeting on the Thursday prior to the 6 hour range day scheduled on Saturday.  This block of instruction is geared toward the new or experienced shooter and is gender and age neutral (21 years old is the minimum age).  Safe firearm handling and an open mind are all that is required.  We have loaner equipment so you can get some training and experience before making your final equipment choices.  Ammunition must be supplied by the student.  If you are having trouble finding ammunition we can help.

• Ohio CCW Laws
• Legal justification for the use of Deadly Force
• Proper firearms handling & safe storage
• Firearm handling & marksmanship skills developement
• Practical application of the pistol for defensive purposes

Equipment Required:

• Modern defensive pistol or revolver (IWB or OWB holster optional)
• 2-3 magazines or speed loaders (belt pouch or carry device optional)
• Factory produced training ammunition matching your firearm's caliber (150 rounds)
• Eye protection (safety glasses or polycarbonate lenses in perscription eyeware)
• Ear protection (electronic shooting ear muffs highly suggested)
• Seasonally appropriate clothing suitable for outdoor activities (no low scooped neck shirts or tops)
• Closed toe shoes or boots suitable for outdoor activities
• A baseball style cap or visor to help protect your face
• Water, sports drinks, & snacks to maintain yourself during moderate physical activity
• COVID 19 precautions - sanitize hands, maintain 6' social distancing, use face coverings where appropriate
