About the Event
Practical 2-Person Close Quarters Battle (CQB) Fundamentals
Introductory / Refresher | Open Enrollment
This course provides an introductory block of instruction in Close Quarters Battle (CQB), focused on the practical application of two-person Strong Wall procedures in confined spaces for personal defense and patrol-level response.
Instruction is delivered using a decision-driven procedural framework, not scripted or checklist-based clearing methods. The material prioritizes realistic considerations for armed civilians and patrol officers operating with limited support, rather than specialized military or full-team SWAT operations.
This course is particularly relevant to:
Personal and home defense scenarios
Armed response in limited public environments
Patrol officers seeking improved structure and context for building entry and movement
For law enforcement participants, this course serves as:
A foundation or refresher for patrol-level officers
An introductory exposure block for officers considering future SWAT training
Not a replacement for a dedicated SWAT CQB school
Instructional Emphasis
Topics covered include:
Positioning and role responsibilities in two-person Strong Wall CQB
Managing angles, corners, and unknown spaces in confined environments
Communication and coordination under stress
One-person response considerations when operating independently
Risk recognition and decision-making in close quarters
Higher-risk or more advanced CQB concepts may be demonstrated to illustrate risk versus reward, explain why certain techniques are inherently dangerous, and reinforce why they are often inappropriate outside extreme circumstances. These demonstrations are intended to build judgment and context, not to prescribe tactics.
Scope & Expectations
This is an introductory or refresher-level course. A single training day is not sufficient to master CQB, and no such claim is made.

A realistic appreciation of risk, limitation, and necessity
