Practical Defensive Carbine - $150

This  is a developmental skills course focused on the practical use of the  defensive carbine.    It is a great course to continue your training  progression and will provide an opportunity to learn new skills while  improving upon your existing skill set.  The material will be presented  in a crawl, walk, run manner and in an easy to understand building block  approach.

PRE-REQUISITES: Successful completion of our Defensive Carbine Foundational Skills block of instruction or a waiver of this requirement after a  review of your prior training and experience.

Points of Instruction (POI) Include:

• Proper firearm manipulation
• Proper use of the 2 point tactical sling
• Deployment from ready and carry positions
• Speed & tactical reloading of the carbine
• Marksmanship development with enhanced accuracy standards
• Critical decision making in the context of a practical firearm application
• Specific developmental focus dependant upon the student's current skill level
• Immediate and Remedial Action for malfunction clearance (time permitting)
• Practical movement, use of cover, and shooting while moving (timer permitting)

Equipment Required:

• Modern defensive carbine (AR-15 MSR platform preferred) with 2 point tactical sling and WML
• 5 full capacity magazines and a load bearing equipment (LBE) to carry 2+ magazines
• Weapon mounted light with "constant on" capability (500 lumen minimum with 1000-1500 suggested)
• Modern defensive pistol or revolver with OWB tactical overt holster
• 3 magazines / 2 revolver speed loaders and a belt pouch to carry 2 speed reloads
• Factory produced training ammunition matching your firearm's caliber (50 rds pistol & 250 rds rifle)
• Hand Held Tactical Flashlight with belt pouch or pocket clip
• Eye protection (safety glasses or polycarbonate lenses in perscription eyeware)
• Ear protection (electronic shooting ear muffs highly suggested)
• Seasonally appropriate clothing suitable for outdoor activities (no low scooped neck shirts or tops)
• Closed toe shoes or boots suitable for outdoor activities
• A baseball style cap or visor to help protect your face
• Water, sports drinks, & snacks to maintain yourself during moderate physical activity for the training day
